Zero Company dual specializations explained
Most Operators take one of the eight standard Specializations as a primary. A secondary Specialization unlocks around the middle of the campaign, producing dual-specialization builds. Which combinations are legal, and whether every pairing is allowed, has not been published.

A mid-campaign power spike
The secondary Specialization arriving mid-campaign means build advice has to be phased. A recommendation for the first third of the campaign is a single-class recommendation; anything about dual-class synergy applies later.
This site's Squad Builder keeps the secondary slot visibly locked for that reason, rather than pretending the choice is available from the start.
The open question
Whether every primary-secondary combination is legal is unknown. Until that is confirmed, combination pages should only be published where there is a meaningful mechanical reason and evidence to support it — not generated for all fifty-six pairings.
Confirmed
The rules as officially stated
- Most Operators have one of eight standard Specializations as a primary.
- A secondary Specialization unlocks around the middle of the campaign.
- This creates dual-specialization builds.
Planning
What this means for squad building
- Lock the secondary slot in the planner until the unlock point is reached.
- Split build advice into early-campaign and post-unlock phases.
- Do not auto-generate a page for every combination — blueprint Appendix A.7 rules that out explicitly.
What we don't know yet
The game has not been released. These are open questions we have chosen not to guess at.
- Exactly when the secondary Specialization unlocks.
- Whether every combination is legal.
- Whether the secondary grants the full kit or a subset.
- Whether the choice can be changed later.
